This policy describes how we handle information in connection with the iOS app Speedometer (“the App”). If you use the App, you agree to this policy. We may update it; the effective date above will change when we do.
The App estimates speed using device sensors and, where applicable, location services (GPS). Trip summaries, units, and preferences are stored on your device unless you export or share. We do not require an account. The free version may show ads. Optional Pro features are purchased through Apple.
When you grant While Using the App (or equivalent) location access, iOS provides location updates used to compute speed and distance. Location data is processed to show speed in the App; we do not upload your continuous location track to our servers for routine operation. You can change or revoke access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services. Denying location may limit or disable GPS-based speed features.
The App may use motion, barometer, or other on-device sensors where supported. That processing stays on your device for speed and smoothing unless a feature explicitly uploads data (not assumed here).
Saved trips, max speed records, and settings remain on your iPhone or iPad until you delete them or remove the App.
The free tier may display advertisements through Google’s Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) or similar providers. Ad networks may collect or receive identifiers and usage-related data according to their policies and your device settings.
We may use platform or third-party tools that collect crash data, performance data, and limited usage information to keep the App reliable.
Pro unlock and restores are processed by Apple In-App Purchase. Use Restore Purchases in the App if you reinstall or change devices on the same Apple ID.
The App is not directed at children under 13 to collect their personal information knowingly. Do not use the device while driving in an unsafe manner; follow local laws.
On-device data remains until you delete the App or clear its data.
