QR Code Reader Scan Barcode

Privacy Policy · Effective 2026-05-06

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how QR Code Reader Scan Barcode (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) handles information when you use the App on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. We have designed the App to work with the minimum amount of personal information possible, and the great majority of what the App does happens entirely on your device.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and discontinue use.

2. Who we are

The App is published by the developer listed on its App Store page (the “Developer”). For privacy questions you can reach us at the email address in Section 14.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you provide

The App does not require you to create an account or submit personal information (such as your name, email, address, or phone number) to use its core features. If a feature ever asks you to provide information (for example, to email us for support), it will be obvious and entirely optional.

3.2 Information processed automatically

The App itself does not use third-party analytics SDKs to track your behaviour, and we do not collect a profile of you or your in-app activity for marketing. iOS will, separately and at the platform level, share standard App Store metrics (downloads, crash counts, anonymous engagement) with us via App Store Connect. Apple aggregates these and we cannot identify individual users from them.

3.3 Device sensors and on-device processing

4. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. Advertising

This app shows advertisements served through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). We have configured AdMob to serve non-personalized ads only: Google does not use your previous app activity or profile to choose which ads to show you. We do not use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) to track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and we do not share an advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-app tracking.

To serve and measure ads, AdMob may process limited information such as a device-resettable identifier, IP address, approximate (city-level) location, device model, OS version, and basic ad-interaction events (impression, click). This processing is performed by Google as a separate data controller under its own privacy terms.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app presents a Google-certified consent message (UMP) on first launch where you can accept or reject the use of cookies/identifiers for ads. You can change your choice at any time from the in-app settings or by reinstalling the app.

6. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

If the App offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, those transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Your payment details (such as card number) are handled by Apple — they are not visible to us. We receive only the receipt that confirms a purchase or subscription is active for your Apple ID, which we use to unlock the corresponding features.

7. Children’s privacy

We take children’s privacy seriously and design accordingly. If the App is listed in the Kids Category on the App Store, it complies with Apple’s Kids Category requirements: it does not include behavioural advertising, does not include third-party analytics, and does not transmit personal information to third parties. Where applicable, the App also complies with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU GDPR provisions on children’s data.

For all other apps, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. How information is shared

We share information only in these limited cases:

9. Data retention & deletion

Because the App is designed to work without server-side accounts, the data it produces (your saved files, settings, history, etc.) lives on your device. You can delete it at any time by:

Anonymous, aggregated reports we receive from Apple (downloads, crashes, etc.) are retained only for as long as needed to operate and improve the App.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding personal information we hold about you:

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and the right to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

To exercise any right, contact us at the email in Section 14. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information that we receive. Because the App stores most of its data on your device, your device-level security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, encryption-at-rest provided by iOS) is the primary safeguard. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International data transfers

The App is offered worldwide through the App Store. The limited information processed by Apple and (if applicable) Google may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where those companies operate. Apple and Google rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) for these transfers.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the App, in third-party services, or in the law. We will revise the “Last updated” date below and, where the change is material, we will provide a more prominent notice in the App or on this page.
